Maysoon Zayid is a disabled Arab-American comedian who isn’t afraid to get real, be honest and change your perspective about the people and world around you. In the first few minutes you’ll get a feel for her humor (and laugh out loud) as she divulges what it’s like to be an Arab-American in a paranoid world and not be cast in a play for a role as a disabled character. You’ll also learn about cerebral palsy and the reason why Maysoon has the disability.
At 6:24, she talks able-bodied actors who play disabled characters, and why she thinks that needs to change. At 10:48 Maysoon talks about the ridiculousness about people who bully others online. It’s one of the most inspiring, hilarious, and more thought-provoking talks you’ll ever hear and see.
