The dreary winter carries on, and as feet of snow lay on the ground kids continue to have to stay home from school due to dangerous conditions. There’s been one awesome thing that has come out of this, though, and that is the “musical school cancellation” viral video. This video was posted by Durham Academy Head of School Michael Ulku-Steiner and the Assistant Head of School/Upper School Director Lee Hark.
In one day the video has amassed over 2 million views, and while it is hysterical and clever (and helps drive traffic to every website under the sun), there’s a link posted in the “About” section that leads to an incredible story about a man named Chris Rosati, that we highlighted earlier this year.
The video that features Chris who, a father living with Lou Gehrig’s disease, has only 178 views. That’s less that ONE PERCENT of the views on a video of two guys who made a parody rap with the intention of spreading Chris’ next project; a competition aimed at spreading inspiration through the students in his town.

Chris’ message is exactly what we strive to spread, and it deserves to be seen by everyone.
Now for the school cancellation rap we all need to see if only to laugh off the snow we’ll soon be shoveling 🙂
